My practice pitch:
Potential client questions:
1:Do you think your price is fair?
I do feel that my price is a very fair price as my magazine is very information orientated and i feel that you will get your moneys worth when buying It, I also think the price that I have set is affordable for all working class people as it is well under the minuimum wage.
2:Do you think that your target audience is suitable?
I do feel that my target audience is very suitable as the language in this type of genre is quite dark and rude and I feel that this is a suitable audience because it starts at the age where rude language is seen as being suitable for the age and anything lower its not. I also feel that the genre is becoming more and more popular with the lower years.
3:Who are your main competitors ?
My main competitors are Q magazine and Mojo, both these magazine are very popular and I feel that my magazine HH magazine should be competing as my magazine is very interesting and informative , I also feel that the pricing of my magazine is a very fair price for what you are getting as it will take a long time to read and will also grab the attention of the reader .
4:Whats the aim and objective of your exam?
The aim and objective of my magazine is to give off information and spread the word out my genre and what its all about and try and make people that aren't interested become more interested.
5:Will you be using any other fonts?
In my magazine I will be using more than one font as i would hate for it to get repetitive as this might lead my audience to turn to another magazine. If I only use one font then this could lead to a lack of interest from the viewers it also shows that i haven't put enough thought and time into it and they might feel I've been quite lazy with it and they might not want to carry on reading it and showing their interest.
Would you say that your magazine is for entertainment or informative purposes ?
I would say that both of these apply tot my magazine as I want to inform my audience about he Genre and give then information about it , however I also want to give entertainment to my audience as if they really enjoy the magazine then this will make them tell all there friends and family about the magazine which will get the magazine to a wider range of audience which will allow more money to be coming in.
Feedback I was given:
1." If its monthly then its going to be very difficult to get dates and time from pubs"- I feel that this piece of feedback is a very important point and have shown to me that I shouldn't be selling this monthly, this is because I was targeting mostly pubs and I very much doubt all pubs will know what there doing in a months time and what time they will be free so I feel this feedback is a very good piece of feedback and has allowed me to think about the time and when I'm going to be distributing it.
2. "You should have more fonts to not make it repetitive"- I feel that this point is a very good point as If there is the same font through out the whole magazine then it could turn very boring and may even lead customers to go and read and show their interest in other magazine. If I do change the font types then I feel that this magazine could be really successful and people will want to read it and not be bored or disinterested.
3."Your mood board and font say two different things"- In this piece of feedback I completely agree with what's being said , through out my feedback that I got I was told to change my font types and from the feedback I have gotten on this I will defiantly carry this out as I would hate people to be bored while reading my magazine or get another magazine as this could get me a bad reputation and even lose me money.
4."If your magazine is £4.50 monthly then you need to change this as If your doing weekly then if feel that £4.50 every week will be to expensive and they wont be able to afford it
New presentation;
This is my new presentation, I updated this presentation on the feedback I got , this was very important to do as I was pitching my ideas to my client which is very important. The feedback I got and the questions I was asked were to do with price, if the magazine was suitable and whether the target audience was suitable. I did more research and change this power point so it would be a success.
Presentation1 from clark pollins
This is my old presentation that I used in my practice pitch, the feedback I got from my audience I changed it up and updated this due to the feedback.
